Nonviolence Mural

Connecticut Center For Nonviolence (CTCN) Albany Ave. mural project

On November 20-21, 2010, Design Global Change designed and painted the Upper Albany Nonviolence Mural in the North End of Hartford, on the wall of the Northend Church of Christ (687 Albany Avenue). The mural elaborates on The Kingian Principles of Nonviolence promoted by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., with special attention to principle #2:"The beloved community is the frame work of the future."

Sergio Barrera and Joshua Parent led the team of DGC Fall 2010 students participating in the mural-making, which also included Ethan Bodnar, Crystal Cote, Jonathan Eckels, Marene Ferguson, Laura Kovac, Nikki Lee, Cael Spillane, and Mullica Zudsiri.

This project was a collaboration with the Connecticut Center for Nonviolence, Hartford clergy and Community Peacebuilders.
